Since 2021 the ABC has been publishing emerging writers from central and rural Appalachia. Because of you these writers are given a space to develop their voices as artists and to freely experiment with storytelling in their native voices.

You can make a difference!

Writers like Emily Unwin and Kelly Ward, our first authors, found a home at the ABC. Your support allows them to share their authentic mountain stories and in so doing, start seeding a more nuanced appreciation of our unique and misunderstood region.

This year we're seeking to raise $2,000 by the end of the year. Your donation will ensure enable publication of three chapbooks next year. That means bringing three more stories from underrepresented, Appalachian writers into the world. Three more writers given a foothold in publishing and national media ecosystem.

Help discover and publish more Appalachian writers in 2024!

Donors who give $50 or more in 2023 will be added to our Founders list. We're counting on your support!

Thank you!
